20 April 2025, New Delhi: The world is facing serious challenges like climate change, deforestation, and rising carbon emissions. Now, more than ever, we need sustainable solutions. The Save the Earth Conclave 2025 aims to rally efforts around this cause. This global event gathers leaders, policymakers, and innovators to find ways to promote environmental sustainability. This year, it focuses on bamboo, highlighting its benefits for climate resilience, renewable energy, and green economic growth. Bamboo grows quickly, captures carbon efficiently, and offers many uses, making it a key player in nature-based solutions during this critical decade.

Hosted by the Phoenix Foundation Sanstha along with the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA), Bharti Institute of Public Policy (ISB Hyderabad), and the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), the conclave aims to create real impact by linking policy, innovation, and community action.
Dr. Mukesh Gulati, Executive Director of FMC, emphasized the importance of bamboo for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He said, “Bamboo connects environmental restoration with job security. Through this conclave, we aim to mobilize knowledge and investment to integrate bamboo into green value chains led by MSMEs.”
Shri Pasha Patel, Chairman of the Phoenix Foundation and a passionate advocate for sustainable agriculture, also voiced the urgent need for action. He pointed out, “The temperature is rising rapidly. We must act now to protect our planet.” He has been a strong supporter of using cooperative efforts to promote bamboo farming, urging collaboration between various ministries to address climate change effectively.
The conclave will feature the India Sustainability Awards 2025, recognizing 15 leaders who have made significant contributions to climate action and green innovation. Key figures like Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Union Minister for Transport Shri Nitin Gadkari, and Union Minister of Environment Shri Bhupender Yadav will attend the event. Honorees include influential leaders from Maharashtra and acclaimed individuals, such as Padma Bhushan awardee Kamlesh Patel.
Bringing together experts from different sectors, the conclave aims to shape effective sustainability strategies. The discussions will showcase how bamboo can transform industries, lower environmental impact, and create green job opportunities. By highlighting bamboo’s potential, the conclave seeks to invoke collaborative actions that can lead to sustainable change.
Importantly, this conclave is not just an event—it signifies a larger movement for change. As we confront one of the biggest threats to our planet, it encourages everyone, including industry leaders and policymakers, to engage in meaningful dialogue and build impactful partnerships. It reminds us that waiting for someone else to save our planet won’t work; it’s time for action.
Recent studies show that bamboo can sequester about 30% more carbon dioxide than other trees, making it a valuable resource in climate strategies. These insights, along with the growing social media conversation around bamboo’s benefits, reflect a shift toward embracing sustainable materials in various industries.
