Food Theft at North Olmsted Apartment

In an unusual turn of events, North Olmsted police believe they’ve cracked the case of a stolen dinner order. The theft involves two delivery workers from different services, highlighting the competitive nature of food delivery.

On the evening of October 4, an apartment resident and her boyfriend ordered dinner from the Cheesecake Factory. The meal was delivered to their building’s lobby but mysteriously disappeared before the couple could pick it up.

After reviewing surveillance footage, police discovered that immediately after the Cheesecake Factory order arrived, another delivery worker, who was delivering McDonald’s, took the Cheesecake order. The second driver, identified through her license plate, now faces theft charges.

Interestingly, the suspect claimed she took the food out of frustration after a confrontation with the first driver about delivery protocol. She later admitted to giving away the food to someone she encountered on the street.

Disorderly Conduct Incident

In a separate incident early on October 5, officers received a report of a man behaving suspiciously in black clothing on Clague Road. When police arrived, they found him hiding, which led to a chaotic foot chase. This suspect, under the influence of alcohol, struggled to maintain his balance and was ultimately charged with disorderly conduct.

Impaired Driving Case

Another case involved a female driver spotted weaving on I-480 around 4:10 a.m. on October 11. Despite initially denying any drinking, she admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that night. After field sobriety tests, she was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.
