Recently, rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2’s price have flooded online spaces. A former Nintendo sales executive, Sean, tried to clarify these rumors on the Kit & Krysta Podcast.
When asked about the accuracy of retailer listings claiming prices for the Switch 2, he stated that these retailers do not know anything about the price or even the launch date. Here’s a snippet from the conversation:
Kit: “A lot of retailers are saying ‘Switch 2 $400’. What do they know?”
Sean: “Nothing, nothing… They certainly don’t know the price. It’s amusing to see reports like ‘Walmart Canada says the price will be this.’ Walmart Canada will be the last to know.”
These statements come after some retailers hinted that the Switch 2 might cost less than expected. Analysts have also shared their thoughts, and speculation will likely continue until Nintendo provides an official price.
A ‘Switch 2 Direct’ is set for April 2, 2025. This broadcast is expected to reveal more details, hopefully including the price.
