The Fox Creek basketball teams are eager to find their rhythm in their new region as they prepare to compete against Silver Bluff. The girls’ team has faced some challenges this season, but the Predators are improving. They played a tight game against Swansea, showcasing their growth. Meanwhile, the boys’ team is thriving with two consecutive wins after a rocky start.

The boys made headlines by scoring over 100 points in a game for the first time since 2010. This big win came against Swansea as they kicked off their region play. After a four-game losing streak early in the season, Fox Creek started to regain their confidence with a 60-54 victory over Newberry. Coach Tim Butler sees these victories as positive steps forward.

“That win was huge for us,” Butler said. “At the start, we faced very tough teams. Playing against Grovetown and Greenbrier prepared us well for our region battles.”

The Predators took charge early against Swansea, starting the game strong with a 15-0 run. They finished the first quarter with another impressive 10-0 run, leading 51-20 at halftime. Butler emphasized the importance of maintaining their energy level throughout the game, especially after experiencing several second-half collapses earlier in the season.

“We learned from our losses,” he explained. “We need to keep pushing, even when we have a lead. Our goal is to play hard until the final buzzer.”

Despite their progress, Fox Creek faced a tough challenge against top-ranked Keenan. They struggled to recover after falling behind early, ending the game with a 56-45 loss. Now, the team is focused on bouncing back and gearing up to face their new rival, Silver Bluff.
