Marshall expressed his disappointment on social media, stating, “After several days of negotiations, the ESPN lawyers stopped talking to us just an hour before the broadcast. I’m really sad for Rachel and the entire team who worked hard for two years on this film.” He assured fans that the documentary would make its way to audiences soon.
Rachel, Breathe tells the inspiring story of marathoner Rachel Foster. Five months after waking from a coma, she completed the Boston Marathon—an achievement many thought impossible. Originally, the documentary was set for a 7 p.m. ET airing with a re-broadcast scheduled for the following day. While the ESPN2 schedule currently shows no results, reports indicate it may still air on YouTube TV at 9:30 a.m. PT on Monday.
Marshall worked with producers Aly Parker, Tony Rosenthal, and Joanna Forscher, who also contributed as the writer.
