Brentford’s head coach, Thomas Frank, recently praised Liverpool, calling them “the best team in the world.” After a thrilling match where Liverpool clinched a late victory, he noted that they are clear favorites to win the Premier League title.
In a dramatic finish, substitute Darwin Núñez scored two goals during stoppage time, ensuring Liverpool’s first league win of 2025. Brentford had fought hard throughout the game, displaying strong defensive skills at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Although Liverpool has struggled a bit recently, with draws against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest before facing Brentford, Frank remained impressed with their performance. He pointed out the quality of Klopp’s squad, especially after playing against top teams like Manchester City and Arsenal in quick succession.
After the match, Frank shared his thoughts with the BBC: “For me, Liverpool is a level above the other teams. They are complete.” His admiration for their hard work and skills was clear. He mentioned how well they track back on defense and create threats all over the pitch. “Their work ethic is top-notch,” he said, emphasizing their abilities to control the game.
Reflecting on Brentford’s efforts, Frank noted, “We played a solid game against the best team right now. We defended well and minimized their chances.” He acknowledged that his team might have missed some key final touches, which prevented them from converting opportunities into goals. He complimented Liverpool’s defenders, stating they were exceptional all match long.
