Franklin, Indiana – Two talented chefs from Indiana made their mark at the recent World Food Championships (WFC). This thrilling competition brought together over 400 teams from across 35 states and 14 countries, all vying for culinary glory. The event took place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center.

This year, Indiana chefs stood out more than ever, with more than 110 local cooks showcasing their skills. Among the winners were:

  • Daniel McDonald from Franklin, who secured a gold medal in the Bacon category.
  • Cindy Hawkins from Indianapolis, who earned her first title in the Dessert category.

The WFC features a variety of culinary categories, including Barbeque, Burger, Chef, Live Fire, Noodle, Sandwich, Seafood, and Vegetarian. Out of the fierce competition, only ten teams emerged victorious.

Mike McCloud, the CEO and Founder of WFC, highlighted the event’s success. “Each year, the World Food Championships raises the bar for culinary excellence. The 2025 chefs showcased what Food Sport is all about,” he said.
