Twin Cities Offer Free Food Distributions This Weekend
Twin Cities families are set to receive essential food and resources this Saturday, October 11, 2025. Local organizations, Task Force Community and Spirit of Matthew 25, are hosting events to help those facing food insecurity.
Task Force Community in Brooklyn Center
From 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Task Force Community will hold its regular food distribution at 6040 Earle Brown Dr., Brooklyn Center, MN 55430. Families can pick up food for up to two members by filling out a short form. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Task Force Community focuses on assisting immigrant and low-income families. Their efforts aim to reduce hunger in the area.
Matthew 25 in Coon Rapids
At the same time, Spirit of Matthew 25 will run a 2nd Sunday Drive-Thru Give-Away in Coon Rapids. This event is open to everyone and requires no prior sign-up. It will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., while supplies last.
Items typically available include fruits, pantry staples, and baked goods when donations allow. Here’s how the drive-thru works:
- The parking opens at 11:30 a.m., with volunteers on hand to guide traffic.
- Drivers are asked to open their trunks before reaching the distribution tables for quicker loading.
- Households can return through the line again if they need food for more than one family.
- Walkers and cyclists should enter through Door A.
