Freese’s Heroic Saves Propel USA Past Costa Rica into Gold Cup Semifinals!

Damion Downs stepped up to score in the sixth round of a penalty shootout, propelling the U.S. to the semi-finals of the Concacaf Gold Cup after a thrilling match against Costa Rica that ended in a 2-2 draw.

The U.S. team will face Guatemala on Wednesday after they surprised Canada in their own shootout earlier. Mexico will play against Honduras in the other semi-final.
