ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 16 Florida State women’s golf team is currently tied for second place at the Coach Mo Classic, held at St. Johns Golf Club. After two rounds, the Seminoles are just two strokes off the lead, sitting at 6-over, 582 with scores of 3-over, 291 in each round.
FSU head coach Amy Bond expressed her confidence in the team’s performance. “We had a solid day,” she said. “Being just two strokes back gives us a great shot. We’ll focus on improving tomorrow.”
Sophia Fullbrook leads the tournament after rounds of 72 and 67. She made an impressive eagle on the par-five eighth hole and finished the day with four birdies on the back nine, giving her a total of 5-under, 139.
Haruhi Nakatani improved her game on windy conditions, finishing the second round at even par, 72, and is currently tied for 14th at 3-over, 147.
Alexandra Gazzoli had a standout first round with five birdies, scoring 4-under, 68. However, she faced challenges in the second round and ended up with 82, tying her for 28th at 6-over, 150. Freya Russell also stands tied for 28th after rounds of 76 and 74.
As the final round approaches, excitement builds. The last 18 holes will commence at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, featuring a shotgun start.
