GEF India Champions Kotha Cheruvu: A Pioneering Step Towards Environmental Sustainability

Hyderabad: Gemini Edible & Fats India Limited (GEF India) is teaming up with HMDA, T-SIG, and the Dhruvansh organization to revitalize Kotha Cheruvu.

As part of their commitment to social responsibility, GEF India has donated ₹1.20 crores to this restoration project. The launch was marked by Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmad, the Commissioner of HMDA.

Kotha Cheruvu plays a key role in the local ecosystem, but its water quality has dropped due to sewage and overgrowth of aquatic weeds. The project aims to clean the lake, enhance water quality, and maintain local biodiversity using sustainable and cost-effective methods.

Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmad and Ms. Mailaram Nagapurna, Chairperson of Narsingi Municipality, praised GEF India and Dhruvansh for their efforts in rejuvenating the lake.

GEF India is collaborating with the Dhruvansh organization to explore long-term solutions. Their focus includes managing water resources, reducing waste, and preserving habitats.

Through its CSR initiatives, GEF India demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and community well-being. The recent launch of Freedom Park, aimed at fostering green spaces, reflects their dedication to environmental health. Moving forward, GEF India will continue to support projects that benefit both nature and the community.
