ESCANABA — The Bay College Student Food Pantry just received a generous $7,350 donation from the Delta County 100+ Women Who Care group. This funding is vital as it helps provide essential food resources for students who need assistance.

Food security is becoming increasingly critical for many students. This donation will help replenish the pantry with nutritious foods, ensuring that students have what they need for both their academic and personal well-being.

“We are immensely grateful for the Delta County 100+ Women Who Care,” says Amy Gibbs, the Director of Career and Workforce Development at Bay College. “This support will significantly improve our students’ lives, helping them to focus on their studies without the worry of food insecurity.”

The group, Delta County 100+ Women Who Care, is made up of dedicated women who meet quarterly to support local charities. Each member contributes $100, which is pooled together. This quarter, they chose to support the Bay College Student Food Pantry.

“We are proud to stand by the Bay College Student Food Pantry and their mission to assist students in need,” says Christine Tryan, one of the group’s co-founders.

“Helping students and supporting education is essential for the growth of our community,” adds Sam Griebel, another co-founder.
