Genevieve Peranteau Signs with Stevenson University: A New Era for the Freestyler in 2025!

Genevieve Peranteau, a senior at Central Bucks South High School in Pennsylvania, has exciting news: she’s going to swim for Stevenson University this fall! She’ll also major in nursing, showcasing her commitment to both athletics and academics.

“I’m so proud and excited to announce my commitment to Stevenson University to swim and major in nursing. Thank you to my coaches and my teammates for the support and love throughout the process! Go Stangs!” Genevieve shared.

Genevieve has been a dedicated competitor, recently participating in the Colonial League Conference Championships. Her team finished 6th overall, with Genevieve achieving personal bests: 22nd place in the 200 free (2:26.99) and 23rd in the 500 free (6:28.04), close to her previous best of 6:26.91.

Since her freshman year, Genevieve has made remarkable progress. Her times in the 100 and 200 free have improved significantly, dropping from 1:20.18 and 2:39.01 to 1:09.69 and 2:26.99.

Here are her best times in short course yards (SCY):

• 100 free: 1:09.69
• 200 free: 2:26.99
• 500 free: 6:26.91

Stevenson University competes in Division III and is part of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC). At this year’s championships, the team placed 8th out of 11, matching their previous finishes. Scoring required times of 58.28, 2:09.63, and 5:44.23 in the 100, 200, and 500 free events. Notably, only two swimmers from Stevenson scored in these events this year.

Genevieve will join other incoming swimmers: Claire Price, Ella Wirth, Jordan Sowards-Barnett, Isabelle Stoughton, and Olivia Jansen, as they begin their journey together in Baltimore.

Experts believe that athletes like Genevieve are shaping the future of collegiate sports. Dr. Laura Smith, a sports psychologist, emphasizes that balancing academics and athletics builds resilience.
