FAIRFAX, Va. – Exciting news for George Mason Women’s Tennis! Head Coach Steve Curtis has announced three new recruits who will join the team for the 2026-27 season.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Gray, Marianna, and Rowan to the Patriot family,” Coach Curtis said. “They will be one of the strongest recruiting classes in Mason history. These players are not just talented on the court, but they also uphold our high academic standards.”
Here’s a closer look at the new talents:
Gray Feaster
- Hometown: Knoxville, Tenn.
- High School: West High School
- Major: Psychology
Gray is a standout 4-star player, ranked 160th in the country and 4th in Tennessee. She’s a 2025 State Doubles Champion, a finalist in national doubles, and has numerous accolades, including a place on the TSWA All-State Team.
Marianna Primatova
- Hometown: Fairfax, Va.
- High School: Fairfax High School
- Major: Finance
Marianna, also a 4-star player, has made waves in Virginia tennis. She has held impressive USTA rankings and has won numerous titles, earning her the MVP award for 2023 and 2024.
Rowan Scronce
- Hometown: Decatur, Ga.
- High School: Lakeside High School
- Major: Psychology
Rowan has been a pivotal player in her high school, earning MVP honors multiple years and recognition on the All-State team. She’s ranked 140th nationally and is number 7 in Georgia.
As the sport evolves, these recruits represent a growing trend in college athletics, where student-athletes increasingly balance rigorous academic pursuits with high-level competition. In a recent survey by the NCAA, over 70% of college athletes reported that they prioritize both academics and athletics. This reflects the dedication and talent of young athletes today.
