In a thrilling match on Tuesday night, Georgetown University’s men’s lacrosse team defeated Loyola with a score of 14-7. This victory brings Georgetown’s season record to 3-3, while Loyola falls to 4-4.

Standout Players

Liam Connor led Georgetown with an impressive three goals and six assists, bringing his total to nine points for the game. Jake Bickel also shone brightly, achieving a career-high with four goals. Rory Connor scored three times, marking his sixth consecutive game with a hat trick. Other contributions came from Jack Ransom, who scored twice and assisted once, and both Kevin Miller and Jack Schubert, who each had a goal and an assist.

In goal, Anderson Moore had a standout performance with 14 saves, tying him for eighth place in Georgetown’s all-time career saves, now at 410.

Georgetown started strong, scoring the first three goals in just eight minutes. After a brief response from Loyola, the first quarter ended with Georgetown ahead 4-3 due to Rory Connor’s last-second goal.

The second quarter showcased Georgetown’s dominance, as they outscored Loyola 5-1. This pushed the halftime score to 9-4. The third quarter saw a slow start until Ransom found the net, creating a 10-4 lead. Mason Cook stood out for Loyola, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Carson Hall performed well in faceoffs, winning 14 out of 17. Despite solid efforts from the Greyhounds, including a decent performance from goalie Max Watkinson with 10 saves, they couldn’t catch up.

The Hoyas now look ahead to face No. 8 Syracuse on Sunday, March 22. The game promises to be an exciting challenge as both teams strive for key victories in the season.
