Ejae shared her shock after the nominations were announced. “I’m still in disbelief,” she said, while Ami couldn’t hold back her tears, expressing how surreal the moment felt. Nuna highlighted the importance of representation, saying, “Seeing three Korean faces gives hope to kids, showing them what they can achieve.”
Ejae made history as the first Korean-American female songwriter to be nominated for song of the year. She admitted to feelings of “imposter syndrome,” a sentiment Ami echoed, noting how Korean women often face extra challenges to gain recognition.

In the song of the year category, “Golden” faces tough competition, contending with hits like “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga and “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter. For best pop duo/group performance, it’s up against tracks like “Defying Gravity” featuring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
Despite strong industry buzz, “Golden” did not receive a nomination for record of the year, which surprised many and would have made Huntr/x the first K-pop group in that category.
Since its debut on Netflix in June, “KPop Demon Hunters” has become the platform’s most popular movie ever. Its songs, including “Golden,” “Your Idol,” and “Soda Pop,” have consistently charted on Billboard’s Hot 100.
The film’s popularity led Netflix to release a sing-along version in theaters for fan events. During its first weekend, it grossed around $18 million, showing the immense fan support. Another limited release around Halloween also brought in $5 to $6 million, proving its lasting appeal.
