Are you ready for the food drive this Saturday? Cub Scout Pack 793 is on a mission to collect donations for the West Seattle Food Bank. They’ll be out in the community from 10 AM to 12 PM, making it easy for you to help those in need.
If you live between California, Admiral, 37th, and Hanford, you should find a door hanger from the scouts. They will come to your door to collect your items. Live outside this area and still want to pitch in? No worries! You can drop off your donations at the parking lot between Hiawatha Playfield and West Seattle High School.
What can you donate? The food bank welcomes non-perishable items that are unopened. Check out this short list:
- Canned goods, especially low-sodium or no sugar added.
- Fresh fruits and vegetables (don’t forget to wash them!).
- Pet food and litter for the Pet Pantry.
- Diapers and baby formula for the Baby & Child Corner.
Last year, Pack 793 broke records by donating over 1,000 pounds of food, more than any other group in West Seattle. This year, they’re aiming even higher! Every single donation makes a difference.
Supporting local food banks is essential, especially during tough economic times. A recent survey showed that 41% of adults in the U.S. reported struggles to provide enough food for their families. Initiatives like this food drive help bridge that gap.
Community involvement is powerful. When people come together for a cause, they can create real change. So, let’s rally around Pack 793 this Saturday and show our support!
