We’ve all imagined waking up to the cheerful sounds of Mario collecting coins or the lively beats from Splatoon. Traditional alarms just don’t cut it anymore. That’s where Nintendo’s Alarmo comes in. This quirky alarm clock plays music and sound effects from your favorite games to wake you up in style. Plus, you don’t need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to get one!

The Alarmo comes in a bold red color. During its development, Nintendo decided to stick with this shade and not explore other colors. It features 35 different wake-up “scenes” taken from popular Switch games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. These scenes kick off with music, then react to your movements in bed with a variety of sounds.

You can choose how the Alarmo wakes you up. Steady Mode ramps up the sounds to get you moving. Gentle Mode keeps things calm and consistent. If you just want a few more minutes, Button Mode offers a snooze option.

When it’s time to wind down, Alarmo can play soothing sounds to help you drift off to sleep. It also tracks your sleep patterns, giving you a glimpse of how well you rested over time. While it’s not as detailed as a sleep tracking app, it offers some insight into your sleep habits each month.
