A Quick Look Back
The Field Trip Day tradition started in 2016-17, with the exception of the COVID-19 season. Each year has seen great attendance, showing just how popular women’s basketball is becoming at Illinois.
In fact, interest in women’s sports is rising across the country. According to a recent survey by the Women’s Sports Foundation, participation in girls’ sports has grown by nearly 30% over the past decade. Events like Field Trip Day are vital for fostering that interest, especially in sports like basketball where women’s representation has traditionally lagged behind men’s.
So mark your calendars for Nov. 18! It will be a fun day of basketball and community engagement, continuing to create lasting memories for fans and players alike.
