EA Sports is bringing back its popular college football game series! “College Football 26” is set to launch in the summer of 2025. This news comes just after the successful release of “College Football 25” in July 2024.
The series took a long break after its last release in 2013 due to legal issues. Former players claimed their names and likenesses were used without permission, leading to a pause in production. In 2021, EA Sports announced it would return as rules around college athletes and name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights changed.
When “College Football 25” finally came out, fans rushed to buy it, making it one of the highest-selling games in history. Over 2.8 million copies flew off the shelves during its launch. Players enjoyed classic features like Dynasty Mode, which allows them to build and manage football programs, and Road to Glory, where they could experience a college player’s journey. New elements, including the College Football Playoff, also added to the excitement.
This version included every player in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for the first time, with more than 10,000 players signing NIL deals to be in the game. Players loved sharing their gameplay moments on social media, with some simulations, like the 2024 season, gaining a lot of attention.
With “College Football 26” on the way, fans are already speculating about the cover athlete. Last year, stars like Travis Hunter, Quinn Ewers, and Donovan Edwards graced the cover. This time, names like Jeremiah Smith, Arch Manning, and Jeremiyah Love are in the mix as potential candidates. Fans can’t wait to see who gets the spotlight this summer!
