Get Ready for Summer! Enjoy Convenient Pick-Up Meals at the Newton School Food Program

The Newton School District is ready to kick off its Summer Food Program in June. This initiative will offer weekly meal pick-ups at Newton High School, a system that has previously been used successfully.

Julie Miller, the Food Service Supervisor, explained that parents will drive through the parking lot to grab meals—much like during the pandemic. Each child aged one to eighteen can receive five breakfasts and five lunches at once. Meals will be distributed every Thursday starting at 9 a.m., on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, children attending summer school or the YMCA Day Camp will receive meals daily at Emerson Hough Elementary. This program does not require families to meet any income guidelines, making it accessible to all.
