NEW YORK (January 15, 2025) – Exciting news from the Professional Fighters League! The new 2025 World Tournament will start in April, showcasing eight weight classes. Each class will have eight elite fighters battling for the title of PFL Tournament Champion. This thrilling tournament will have its semi-finals in June and finals in August. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN and ESPN+, with broadcasts reaching 190 countries.

Here’s how it works: The tournament will include Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight, Welterweight, Lightweight, Featherweight, Bantamweight, and Women’s Flyweight divisions. In total, 64 of the best fighters from around the globe will compete. To become the champion, they need to win three fights in five months. It’s a tough challenge in the world of MMA!

Each of the First Round and Semi-Final fights will consist of three, five-minute rounds. The Finals will be more intense, featuring five, five-minute rounds. Also, this year, fighters are allowed to use elbows during their matches. The tournament will prize a whopping $20 million in total, with each winner getting a $500,000 bonus!

Matchups for the eight brackets will be announced in February.
