Get Ready for the Excitement: Summerland Fall Fair Kicks Off This September!

The Summerland Fall Fair is back! This popular event will take place on September 13 at the Summerland Museum and the Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the fair will celebrate agriculture and strengthen community ties in Summerland.

Since its start in 1909, the fair has showcased local produce and crafts. This year, visitors can enjoy children’s activities, fun races, and cooking demonstrations from local chefs. There will also be live music and entertainment, making it a vibrant day for the whole family.

The Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre will display a variety of homemade and homegrown items. Interested attendees can check the categories for exhibitions at summerlandfallfair.ca.

The Farm Speaker Series will also be a highlight, featuring discussions around two food hubs and the Cross-Community Support Project in the library meeting room.

Don’t miss the silent auction, with over 65 items up for grabs. Local businesses have generously donated gift cards, baskets, and services to support the event.

This fair is not just an event; it’s a way to connect with the community and celebrate local talent. With the growing trend of supporting local agriculture and crafts, there’s a renewed interest in events like this. Research shows that local fairs can boost community spirit and local economies.

Many locals take to social media to share their excitement about the fair, posting pictures from past events and plans for this year. Engaging with the community before the fair helps build anticipation and brings everyone together.
