In a nod to tradition, the Oscars will also reintroduce film clips when nominees are announced. This change adds excitement and helps celebrate past performances.

The list of nominees includes both seasoned stars and fresh talent. Kapoor notes the diversity of this year’s nominations, featuring iconic names alongside newcomers like Timothée Chalamet and Ariana Grande. “We have 13 first-time acting nominees. That new energy is thrilling,” he says.

In light of recent wildfires in Los Angeles, the Oscars will pay tribute to the first responders and firefighters who stepped up during the crisis. Kapoor mentions that the Academy has joined forces with charities and will encourage viewers to get involved.
