Get Ready for Unlimited Yard Waste Collection This Spring in Penticton – Everything You Need to Know!

The City of Penticton has some exciting news for residents! Soon, you’ll have a chance to clean up your gardens with unlimited yard waste collection. This service will be offered from March 24-28 and April 21-25. On your regular garbage collection day, you can place unlimited paper bags or containers of yard waste out alongside your city-issued yard waste cart.

Here are some key tips to keep in mind:

  • Make sure to place your yard waste out by 7 a.m. on collection day.
  • Use heavy-duty paper bags or reusable containers clearly marked for yard waste.
  • Bundle branches with string, making sure they are no longer than 1 meter, 8 cm in diameter, and weigh under 25 kg.
  • If your extra yard waste isn’t collected, leave it so a second truck can pick it up later.
  • Leave at least 1 meter between your yard waste and carts.
  • Plastic bags won’t be accepted for yard waste.
  • Also, dog waste, kitchen scraps, and food waste are not allowed in yard waste.

This service is a great opportunity to dispose of waste responsibly and keep our community tidy. You can even sign up for reminders about your garbage and recycling collection to stay organized.
