Get Ready for WoW Housing! Patch 11.2.7 Introduces Exciting Features, But Not Everything You’ll Want

Those who preorder the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight, will get early access to the game’s new housing system. Players can begin customizing their in-game homes before the full launch, scheduled for early 2026.

In a recent interview, WoW’s senior game director Ion Hazzikostas shared more about the player housing feature and its early access. While some aspects will be available in the patch 11.2.7, which is expected late this year, the complete housing experience won’t be fully available until Midnight launches.

The early access, coming with patch 11.2.7, lets players acquire homes, gather decor items, and start decorating. However, the full neighborhood functions and community events linked to housing won’t appear until the expansion itself. Hazzikostas described the early access as a “preview,” allowing players to enjoy a taste of what’s to come.

Blizzard aims to introduce this feature now because player excitement is high. The end of the current expansion feels like a perfect opportunity for players to start collecting items for their homes. Hazzikostas noted, “We want players to dive into past content to unlock decor rather than focusing solely on new stories.”

Players who don’t preorder can still collect housing items starting with the 11.2.7 update. This way, they’ll be ready once they unlock their homes.

Beyond housing, Midnight promises other exciting changes. Blizzard plans to revamp the region of Quel’thelas, introduce a new Allied Race, and enhance the game’s transmog system for easier use.

According to a recent survey by Game Rant, 75% of the community expressed excitement about adding housing to the game. This shows the strong interest and enthusiasm among players, which could offer Blizzard valuable feedback for future updates.

As social media buzz around the expansion grows, players are sharing their dreams for neighborhood events and décor ideas. The potential for creativity in this new system seems limitless, and fans cannot wait to see what’s in store.
