Get Ready, Gopher Fans! Exciting Big Ten Men’s Basketball Schedule Unveiled for University of Minnesota

The University of Minnesota men’s basketball team has revealed its Big Ten schedule for the upcoming season. The Gophers will play 20 conference games—10 at home and 10 on the road. The exact times and broadcasting details will come out at the end of September.

Earlier this year, the team’s nonconference schedule was also announced. In total, they will have 17 games at Williams Arena, which includes two exhibition matches against North Dakota State on October 16 at 7 p.m. and North Dakota on October 25 at 2 p.m.

The Big Ten Conference has a tradition of starting the season with two games in early December. For Minnesota, the league action kicks off on December 3 against Indiana at home. They’ll then head to Purdue on December 10. The Gophers will welcome the new year at Northwestern on January 3.

After their road trip, the team returns home for three games: Iowa on January 6, Southern California on January 9, and Wisconsin on January 13. They will also play at Illinois on January 17 and Ohio State on January 20. Minnesota’s last January game will be at Wisconsin on January 28.

In February, the Gophers will face Penn State on February 1 before hosting Michigan State and Maryland on February 4 and February 8, respectively. There’s a midweek break before a West Coast trip to play Washington (February 14) and Oregon (February 17). They’ll host Rutgers on February 21 and travel to Michigan on February 24, closing the month against UCLA at home on February 28.

The road season wraps up on March 4 against Indiana, with their final regular-season game at home against Northwestern on March 7.

This year’s Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, the 29th edition, will take place from March 10 to 15 at the United Center in Chicago. Notably, this will be the first tournament featuring an expanded 18-team format. The first games will begin on March 10 with the lower seeds, followed by additional rounds throughout the week. CBS Sports will broadcast the semifinals and championship game.

In recent years, interest in college basketball has surged. According to a survey by the NCAA, viewership for the tournaments has increased steadily, highlighting a growing fan base.
