The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film will premiere just before Thanksgiving. This franchise has been a powerhouse, with previous movies generating nearly $913 million globally. In 2023 alone, the brand raked in over $1 billion in retail sales for Paramount.
The Sonic film, produced by Neal H. Moritz and SEGA Sammy Group, has a successful track record. The last installment, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, debuted to an impressive $60.1 million and went on to earn $236.1 million domestically and $492.1 million worldwide. The Sonic trilogy has amassed a staggering $1.2 billion. Additionally, the Knuckles spinoff series on Paramount+ set records, attracting over 11 million viewing hours in just 28 days.
On another note, Paramount also announced a 40th Anniversary cut of Top Gun, slated for May 13, 2026. The original Top Gun was a huge success, earning $180 million domestically. Its sequel became Paramount’s highest-grossing film, with nearly $1.5 billion worldwide.
