WAUSAU, Wis. – The United States Snowmobile Association is excited to bring the Sprint World Cup back to Wausau. This event is perfect for anyone who loves speed and thrills.
Bob Richardson, the Director of Competition for USSA, highlights the atmosphere: “If you’re looking for excitement, this is the place to be. Expect beautiful winter weather in the 20s. The races see speeds over 90 miles per hour, and the close competition is thrilling.”
Racers from the U.S. and Canada will compete on the Wausau 525 race track, a venue known for its design specifically for oval snowmobile racing. Racer and crew member Davis Jennings states, “This track is really special. It’s designed just for racing, and it offers fantastic views for fans.”
This marks the event’s third consecutive year, and it has grown tremendously, thanks in part to the local community. Richardson shares, “The community really supports us. We see great local sponsors and wonderful collaboration with charities. It’s all about growing together.”
Behind this exciting event is the hard work of nearly 80 dedicated volunteers. Jennings adds, “It takes a lot of people to make this happen. Many tasks go on behind the scenes that fans don’t see, including those working the equipment.”
Richardson explains, “From watering the track continuously to helping on race day, our volunteers do it all. They assist with food, beverages, and other needs. It truly relies on their support.”
The event is also giving back to the community by collecting non-perishable food items for the Neighbors Place of Wausau.
