Get Ready: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4 on Switch Will Require a Mandatory Download – What You Need to Know!

We have some news to share, even if it’s not the kind we love discussing. It looks like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will need a download on the Nintendo Switch.

Looking at the box art, it seems a required download is in place, likely due to space constraints on the standard Switch cartridge.

We’ve asked Activision for more details and will keep you posted. Unfortunately, this could affect fans of physical games. While some players might be okay with a missing component now, there could be issues later on if that download option disappears. Some might even find a download impossible.

We hope it’s just for cosmetics or simple settings, not essential content like full levels or an entire game.

Recently, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was officially announced after a lot of buzz online. The game will drop on July 11, 2025. Expect a fresh level called Waterpark along with favorites from the original titles released in 2001 and 2002.

We’re hoping for a native Switch 2 version. With that, who knows, maybe the game will fit on a cartridge after all.
