Lacrosse 26 is set to make its debut on April 24, and there are some exciting updates about the game. Insider Gaming has gathered some exclusive insights regarding the platforms, pricing, and gameplay details, directly from Crosse Studios’ founder, Carlo Sunseri.
Initially, many players expected Lacrosse 26 to be available on PCs, but it will launch first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sunseri explained that the team is focused on getting through the certification processes for these consoles. A PC version is on their radar, and they hope to support it soon.
As for the price, Lacrosse 26 will retail for $34.99. Sunseri believes this reflects the effort and features included in the game.
Interestingly, Lacrosse 26 is designed around a college-like experience and will not have official licensing from the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). However, Sunseri mentioned that they had a great partnership with the PLL while developing PLL Top Shelf, their mobile game. He expressed enthusiasm about potentially collaborating with the league for future projects.
Even without licenses, Lacrosse 26 will feature commentary from former ESPN play-by-play announcer Eamon McAnaney, adding a layer of professionalism to the experience.
The control system aims to be intuitive while allowing players to improve their skills through practice. Sunseri highlighted that they’ve focused on skill-based shooting, stick checks, and dodging to create a more dynamic gameplay experience. He mentioned how the new engine enhances animations and player movements, laying the groundwork for future developments.
Looking ahead, Crosse Studios is eager to streamline their game development cycle. They aim to create new content more often rather than waiting years between releases. Sunseri revealed that this cycle included a lot of trial and error, but they are committed to improving the flow of the game.
