After Matthew Stafford decided to stay with the Los Angeles Rams, the Giants are looking at Rodgers, who is currently with the New York Jets but is likely to be available when the new league year begins on March 12, 2025. At 41, Rodgers still possesses talent, making him a potential option for the Giants as they search for a starting quarterback.

If the Giants sign Rodgers, it could change the quarterback dynamics. They hold the No. 3 pick in this year’s NFL Draft and are considering top college prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. This means Rodgers could either serve as a short-term solution or mentor a young quarterback from the draft.

From a financial perspective, signing Rodgers could be advantageous for the Giants. His contract demands are likely to be more affordable than Stafford’s, and there would be no draft picks needed for the signing. Last season, Rodgers had 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, but it was a turbulent year for him and the Jets, finishing with a 5-12 record.

Giants general manager Joe Schoen recently mentioned taking swings at the quarterback position. After losing out on Stafford, the focus has now turned to Rodgers, making this a significant moment for the franchise.
