Global Indian Diaspora Joins Viksit Bharat Run 2025 Across 100+ Countries | Northeast Herald

In a groundbreaking move, the Indian government launched a global initiative designed to inspire collective action for nation-building. This event, dubbed “Run to Serve the Nation,” organized community runs ranging from 3 to 5 kilometers in stunning locations worldwide.

Cities like Bangkok, Beijing, Melbourne, and Rome were among the many hosting these runs, including places like Bhutan and Tanzania. The event united Indians living abroad with local communities, students, and professionals, all coming together to support the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Participants took two pledges—the Viksit Bharat Pledge and the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge. These commitments emphasize solidarity with India’s growth journey and personal accountability for progress.

As a part of the celebration, a unique initiative called “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was launched. This tree-planting drive highlights the connection between personal responsibility and environmental care.

The run also linked participants to the MY Bharat portal, which offers various volunteering opportunities and youth-centric programs. This portal enhances engagement among the Indian community, providing a space for meaningful interactions and learning.

This kind of community spirit is crucial. For instance, a recent survey showed that 72% of Indians living abroad feel a strong connection to their roots, supporting initiatives that promote cultural pride and environmental sustainability. Events like this not only draw in participation from across the globe but also foster a sense of belonging that strengthens ties to India.

By collaborating with local organizations, Indian missions ensured widespread involvement, creating a lively atmosphere for everyone. This initiative showcases the power of community and the potential for collective action, reinforcing the idea that together, we can shape a better future.
