Global Love: How a Local Kindergarten Class Received Heartfelt Valentine Cards from Around the World!

HOWE, Texas – Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and kids at Summit Hill Elementary in Howe are diving into a fun learning adventure.

Kindergarten teacher Stefanie Richardson started a special project to connect with other classes across the country. What began as a simple idea turned into something much bigger.

“We wanted to send valentines to a kindergarten class in another state, and they would send some back,” Richardson explained. “But it took off into a nationwide event.”

As letters started pouring in, the class aimed to receive valentines from every state in the U.S. They achieved this just over a week before Valentine’s Day.

In addition to all 50 states, the children received heartfelt greetings from places around the world—Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, India, and even Australia, which the kids especially loved.

This project isn’t just about sending and receiving cards. It teaches the kids about different cultures and places. It also helps them develop important social skills.

“They’re learning to give and receive, and it fosters a sense of community,” Richardson added. “It’s about more than just the mail; it’s about connecting with others.”

Thanks to this global outpouring of love, Ms. Richardson’s classroom is filled with joy and excitement, making this Valentine’s Day truly special.
