Grammy Awards 2026: Celebrate the Rise of Indian Talent with Anoushka Shankar and Siddhant Bhatia’s Nominations!

Hyderabad’s musical talent is gaining international recognition once again. Several Indian artists received nominations for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. Notable names include Anoushka Shankar, Shakti, Siddhant Bhatia, and Charu Suri.

Anoushka Shankar is leading the way with her EP Chapter III: We Return to Light, which is nominated for Best Global Music Album. Collaborating with sarod guitarist Alam Khan and percussionist Sarathy Korwar, she blends traditional Indian sounds with modern styles. This mix showcases her unique approach to music.

Shankar, Khan, and Korwar also earned a nomination for Best Global Music Performance with their captivating track “Daybreak.” Another significant nominee is Shakti, the jazz-fusion ensemble featuring John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussain. Their album Mind Explosion (50th Anniversary Tour Live) is nominated for Best Global Music Album. This nomination highlights their impressive 50-year legacy in the music world.

Shakti’s live performance of “Shrini’s Dream” also stands out in the Best Global Music Performance category. Additionally, Siddhant Bhatia’s collaborative album Sounds of Kumbha received a nomination for Best Global Music Album. This project draws inspiration from the vibrant Kumbh Mela, a major cultural and spiritual festival in India.

Indo-American pianist Charu Suri is also making her mark. Nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for her record Shayan, she has been recognized for her blending of jazz and Indian influences. Interestingly, she also produced Bhatia’s album.

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. This event promises to be a celebration of India’s rich musical heritage on a global stage.
