The interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS has baffled scientists once again. Recent images from the R. Naves Observatory in Spain show no tail, which is unusual for a comet. Typically, a comet releases debris as it approaches the sun. This new finding raises questions about what 3I/ATLAS actually is.
Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb has made headlines with his bold theory that this object might be a piece of alien technology. He claims that 3I/ATLAS, which is expected to pass about 167 million miles from Earth this December, could potentially be harmful. NASA, however, does not support his view.
