AUSTIN, Texas – Harvard women’s golf kicked off its spring season at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Texas. This marked the team’s first time competing at this event. The tournament featured many ranked teams and skilled college golfers amid challenging weather.
Overall, Harvard finished 14th out of 16 teams with a total score of 978 (+114).
The tournament was played at the University of Texas Golf Club. The Crimson faced tough conditions, including cold temperatures and strong winds. In the first round, they scored 337 (+49), putting them in 12th place. Key contributors included Lucy Yuan (82), Vanessa Zhang (84), Bonnie Zhai (84), and Iris Wang (87).
As the weather improved, the team managed to shave 10 strokes off their score in the second round, posting 327 (+39). Iris Wang stood out with an 80, improving her performance on the back nine.
In the final round, Harvard achieved its best score of 314 (+26). Vanessa Zhang led the way with a 75 (+3), the best individual score for Harvard in the tournament. Bonnie Zhai also performed well, recording an eagle on hole five and finishing with a 79 (+7). Lucy Yuan added two birdies and 12 pars for a score of 80 (+8).
Despite their strong performance in the last round, Harvard ended in 14th place.

- Vanessa Zhang recorded the lowest individual score for Harvard at 75 (+3).
- Bonnie Zhai achieved one of only six eagles in the tournament.
- Zhai also led Harvard with four birdies, while Yuan and Wang each added three.
