Harvard’s Tey Barbour Shines as Ivy League Player of the Week
Harvard’s Tey Barbour, a sophomore guard, has recently been named Ivy League Player of the Week. He scored a remarkable 30 points in a crucial game against Cornell, leading Harvard to a strong 73-54 victory and securing a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
Barbour’s performance was impressive. He hit 10 of 15 shots from the field and made 4 of 9 three-pointers. He also sunk 6 of 7 free throws while grabbing six rebounds and providing three assists. In the second half alone, he scored 20 points, showcasing his skill and focus when it counted most.
This marked the first time Barbour reached the 30-point mark in his career. It was also his second game scoring over 20 points this season. Consistency has been key for him, as he has scored in double figures 19 times this year. His efforts helped Harvard secure their sixth straight road victory, making it a standout season for the team.
He’s part of a team that has received Ivy League Player of the Week honors three times this season. Earlier, Robert Hinton, another sophomore guard, won the award twice, on December 8 and February 2.
