Hazelpalooza Thrills and Excels: Over $5,000 Raised for Inner City Health!

On her birthday, Colorado Music Hall of Famer Hazel Miller took the stage at the Arvada Elks Club, not just to entertain but to make a difference. The June 30 concert, put together by dedicated volunteers, raised $5,000 for Inner City Health, a clinic in Denver and Wheat Ridge serving patients, regardless of their insurance or financial situation.

Miller performed with her band, The Collective, plus talented local musicians like Chris Daniels and Jack Hadley. They played for over two hours, keeping the sold-out crowd of 250 energized and dancing all night. “These children played their hearts out,” Miller shared. “It felt like a big party, a concert, and a jam session all rolled into one!”

Miller’s connection to the cause is personal. She has been a patient at Inner City Health for over 30 years and knows many musicians who rely on the clinic’s services. “We have to keep places like this open,” she emphasized. “So many people can’t afford insurance or high deductibles. It’s a place that puts care above financial concerns.”

Debbie Hansen, who helped organize the event, was thrilled with how it turned out. “Hazelpalooza was a great success! There was so much dancing and fantastic music. We’re grateful to everyone who came out to support Inner City Health,” she said.

In a time when healthcare access is a pressing issue, events like Hazelpalooza highlight the importance of community support. A recent study indicated that around 30 million Americans are uninsured, making clinics like Inner City Health essential resources. This concert served as a reminder of how music can unite people for a great cause.
