Belagavi Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled mentioned that the husband’s body was discovered on December 10 in Umrani village of Chikkodi taluk of Belagavi. The SP mentioned in a media briefing on Thursday, “A 3-member group led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police camped in the village and investigated the case. The police initially did not suspect Savitri, however later introduced her for questioning. According to the police, Srimantha Itnali was an alcoholic and used to harass his wife for cash. On December 8, the day of the homicide, he had a struggle together with his wife over land.
