Eugene, Ore. – The Oregon Ducks battled hard but fell 4-2 to the Illinois Fighting Illini in a closely contested match at the UO Student Tennis Center on Friday. This game was part of their ongoing Big Ten schedule.
The Ducks, now 11-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play, scored their two points thanks to freshmen Virginia Crocker and Hinata Furutani. Both players secured straight-set victories, marking their eighth singles wins of the dual season and second in conference matches.
Illinois started strong, winning two of the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. Oregon’s top pairing, Tilde Jagare and Olivia Symons, managed a win at court one, bringing their spring record together to 12 victories.
