HONOLULU — The University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball team faced a tough challenge in their recent game. After a thrilling five-set victory against UC Riverside, they lost to UC Davis in four sets at Bankoh Arena.

The match started with a close first set, but UH managed to take the second, showcasing their resilience. Unfortunately, UC Davis dominated the third and fourth sets, winning 25-23, 23-25, 25-12, and 25-13.

Standout Players

Miliana Sylvester was a key player for UH, making 11 kills with only one error, giving her an impressive hitting percentage of .625. She also contributed to four of the team’s 11 blocks. Freshman Cha’lei Reid added 10 kills but had to leave the match due to an injury in the fourth set. Defensively, libero Victoria Leyva excelled with 17 digs, ensuring the back row was solid.

Adrianna Arquette also made her mark with 20 assists, six kills, and two aces. She shared setting duties with Audrey Hollis, who added 13 assists.

On the other side, UC Davis was led by Brooke Hibino, who delivered 15 kills, while Jade Light, the Big West’s leading scorer, contributed 12.
