Luca Accardo Recognized as Preseason All-American in Men’s Lacrosse
In an exciting announcement, USA Lacrosse has named its 2026 Division I Men’s Preseason All-Americans, spotlighting 84 top players from 31 colleges. High Point University’s senior Luca Accardo earned an honorable mention as a faceoff specialist.
Hailing from Syosset, New York, Accardo made a significant impact during his junior year. He participated in all 16 games and topped the Atlantic 10 Conference with 218 faceoff wins, boasting a 62% success rate. His remarkable performance set a new single-season record at High Point.
Accardo’s standout moment came during the A10 semifinals, where he tied the single-game record by winning 22 of 27 faceoffs. He also collected a career-high 16 ground balls in that match, nearly doubling the team’s previous record for a single game. In total, he led the conference with 154 ground balls, averaging about 9.6 per game—outpacing his competitors by over 50 ground balls.
His contributions didn’t stop there. Accardo scored three goals throughout the season, including a crucial game-winner against Hobart. His offensive and defensive skills made him a key player for the Panthers.
