High Point University’s Konni Durschlag has made waves by being named to the NCAA Div. I Atlantic All-Region First Team. This honor is special; he’s the first Panther in over a decade to receive such recognition, following Nate Roberts in 2010 and Mark Shorey in 2006.
In his senior year, Durschlag shined with a remarkable .434 batting average, placing him third in the nation. He also ranked second in on-base percentage at .546 and seventh in hits with 96. His impressive stats include 15 home runs, 23 doubles, and 59 RBIs, all while playing center field in every game of the season.
Durschlag wasn’t just recognized by his conference. He was also included on D1 Baseball’s Midseason All-American Watchlist and was named to the NCAA National Lineup of the Week.
Looking ahead, the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-America teams will be revealed on June 13, just before the 2025 College World Series in Omaha. Those who made the First Team All-Region are in the running for these prestigious All-America honors. Keep an eye on social media for the announcement of the Gold Glove team finalists and winners later in June.
In sports, recognition like this can inspire others. Many young athletes look up to players like Durschlag and aspire to greatness in their own careers. His achievement serves as a testament to hard work and dedication in the game.
