Historic Achievement: Cowboy Baseball Alum Wrobleski Shatters Records at Oklahoma State University Athletics

Former Oklahoma State pitcher Justin Wrobleski recently made headlines after helping the Los Angeles Dodgers clinch the 2025 Major League Baseball World Series title. The Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in an exciting seven-game series.

As a left-handed relief pitcher, Wrobleski had a stellar performance in the series. He made four appearances and pitched five shutout innings, allowing just four hits and earning six strikeouts. His contributions were crucial to the team’s success.

Wrobleski started his journey at Oklahoma State in 2021, where he had a promising season before an injury cut it short. He finished with a record of 3-2, striking out 50 batters over 40 2/3 innings.

Now, he joins an esteemed group of only nine Oklahoma State alumni to have played in the World Series. Notably, he is one of five who have won a championship. This elite list includes Allie P. Reynolds, who won six titles with the New York Yankees, and Andrew Heaney, who secured a championship with the Texas Rangers in 2023.

Reynolds’ impressive World Series record speaks volumes: he played in 15 series, won seven games, and achieved a remarkable 2.79 ERA. Frank Kellert, another Cowboy, was part of the 1955 champion Brooklyn Dodgers and contributed to their victories. Joel Horlen also found success with the Oakland Athletics in 1972.

Wrobleski’s journey reflects the rich history of Oklahoma State baseball and the dedication of its players to professional baseball. He made his MLB debut with the Dodgers last season and has played in 32 games throughout his career, with 24 of those in the current season.

As Wrobleski continues to build his career, fans and teammates alike recognize the hard work that leads to such meaningful achievements in sports. His story is a testament to perseverance and the spirit of competition.
