Houston Volleyball Dominates North Alabama and McNeese in Thrilling Non-Conference Finale

The Houston Volleyball team wrapped up its non-conference play with two impressive wins against North Alabama and McNeese, showcasing a strong season so far.

In the first match against North Alabama, the teams exchanged points fiercely. Houston initially led 8-4, but North Alabama fought back, tying it at 10-10. With the first set tied at 23, a crucial block from Halle Schroder and Kellen Morin propelled Houston to a 27-25 finish. The Cougars took control in the second set with a decisive 25-20 win after a pivotal 5-0 run. The third set was similarly tight, but Houston surged late, completing the sweep 25-23.

In the second match against McNeese, Houston kept its momentum. They allowed only one tie in the first set, soaring to a 25-11 victory. McNeese managed to keep it close in the second set with multiple ties and lead changes before Houston pulled ahead to win 25-22. The Cougars closed out the night with a 25-18 win in the third set.

Several standout performances made a difference. Lottie Scully notched her 30th double-double with 42 assists and 13 digs, while Alana Torres-Rivera set a career high with 30 digs.
