Wassgren Aims to Revitalize Wisconsin’s Economy
Paul Wassgren, a Republican candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s 7th District, is enthusiastic about using his business experience to help the economy. He’s competing for the seat currently held by Tom Tiffany. A key part of his platform is making health care more affordable.
Wassgren highlighted the current struggle of families in northern Wisconsin, noting that a typical family of four pays over $2,000 each month for health care. “In the 1980s, health care wasn’t a luxury,” he stated during a visit to J & D Tube Benders in Schofield. “Now, it’s often more expensive than a mortgage or rent.”
He believes that reforming the legal system could play a significant role in lowering health care costs. “If we cut down on frivolous lawsuits, we could lower health care coverage expenses significantly,” he explained.
Elections Without Trump’s Endorsement
When it comes to endorsements, Wassgren feels confident moving ahead without one from Donald Trump. “His endorsement can help, but in this case, it doesn’t seem to matter much,” he remarked.
His internal polling indicates that name recognition and qualifications outweigh endorsements in the eyes of Wisconsin voters. “We need to show voters what I can bring to the table,” he added. He remains hopeful for Trump’s support closer to the primary.

Historically, health care costs have been a recurring issue. In the past, coverage was more accessible, allowing families to prioritize other living expenses. Experts today argue that unless health care becomes affordable again, economic growth will remain stunted.
