It was a beautiful evening, and excitement filled the air. Cadyn stood at the plate, facing Arizona State’s ace pitcher, Cole Carlon, a top prospect for the MLB draft. Coming into this season, Cadyn wasn’t a regular starter. But he had worked hard and improved his game. He entered this season with a batting average of just .105 over two previous years, but now he’s hitting .323. Talk about a turnaround!
When Cadyn stepped up to the plate, he felt a mix of nerves and excitement. “He’s a pretty special pitcher,” Cadyn said, recalling the at-bat. With a big smile, he discussed how he adjusted his strategy after facing Carlon’s fastballs. He connected beautifully and sent the ball soaring 341 feet over the right-field wall. The family’s dedication to supporting each other is evident. They travel to every game, putting in the time and effort to cheer him on.

Baseball wasn’t always his number one passion. As a kid, Cadyn loved playing golf, football, and basketball too. But the love for baseball grew as he spent hours throwing catch with his dad, a cherished memory that shaped his dedication to the sport.
K-State stood out to him during the recruiting process for a few reasons. He had family nearby, and he loved the color purple! Though he had to sit out his freshman year, it was a pivotal time for development, just like his dad had experienced. Patience paid off as Cadyn eventually started seeing better results on the field.
He reflected on how the game’s pace feels slower now, allowing him to make better decisions at the plate. This clarity has helped him blossom, and it’s clear his preparation is beginning to bear fruit. He’s now not only contributing by hitting well but also serving as a role model for younger players, showing them the importance of hard work and team spirit.
