Downtown Locker Room, now known as DTLR, has rolled out a new point-of-sale (POS) system across over 640 store locations. This includes DTLR and Shoe Palace, all part of JD Sports North America. The new system comes from Jumpmind Commerce and features a user-friendly interface that makes it easier for store employees to assist customers.
The CEO of DTLR, Todd Kirssin, emphasized that this update marks a significant step for their business. He noted that the flexibility of the Jumpmind platform has helped their team work more efficiently, especially as they expand and rebrand acquired stores.
“Jumpmind allows us to scale and integrate new features quickly, which means our employees can spend more time helping customers,” Kirssin said. The integration was led by Makira, a system integrator that helped ensure the project’s success.
Rick Boretsky, co-founder of Makira, shared that the new system is built to grow with DTLR, which is essential for adapting to future retail demands. It has streamlined operations, making it easier for employees to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
Jumpmind’s CEO, Joe Corbin, pointed out that their platform is designed to be quick and adaptable. This approach helps retailers like DTLR meet current demands while preparing for future challenges.
In the ever-evolving retail landscape, staying updated with technology is crucial. In fact, according to a recent survey by Retail Dive, 82% of merchants believe that implementing new technology is key to improving customer experience.
This shift towards modern retail technology aligns with broader trends. More companies are focusing on creating seamless shopping experiences, merging online and in-store interactions. As DTLR moves forward, it seems clear that adaptability and technology will play a significant role in their success.
