How PM Modi Attributes Operation Sindoor’s Success to Indian Tech and the ‘Make in India’ Initiative

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently highlighted the significant role of Indian technology and the “Make in India” initiative in the success of Operation Sindoor. This operation showcased India’s capability to effectively neutralize terror targets deep within Pakistan, significantly altering perceptions on a global scale.

Speaking at the “Next-Gen Mobility for a Next-Gen City” event in Bengaluru, Modi remarked that this mission revealed a new side of India— one that could defend itself effectively and swiftly. He credited Bengaluru, particularly its young workforce, as crucial to the operation’s achievements.

Bengaluru is often referred to as the heartbeat of India’s tech industry. The city has transformed into a vital player on the global IT stage. Modi emphasized its importance, saying, “Bengaluru symbolizes the rise of a new India, where talent and hard work shine.”

Moving forward, Modi stressed the need for technological self-reliance. He urged that Karnataka should enhance its involvement in the “Make in India” initiative, aiming for products that adhere to “Zero Defect, Zero Effect” standards—meaning they should not only meet quality benchmarks but also be environmentally friendly. He expressed confidence that local talent would lead India toward a more self-sufficient future, or “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

The Prime Minister pointed out that digital technology has penetrated rural areas, with India handling more than 50% of global real-time transactions via UPI. Innovations like AI-powered threat detection systems are part of the government’s efforts to improve transparency and accessibility in governance. This digital leap is essential for ensuring that the benefits of technological advancements reach everyday citizens.

In addition, recent reports indicate that both cybersecurity and technology investments in India are on the rise. According to a 2023 study, India’s tech industry is projected to grow by 10% annually, highlighting the country’s commitment to driving innovation and self-reliance.

As India moves forward, the blend of technology, talent, and a focus on local production will be vital in navigating modern challenges and establishing a stronger national identity.
